
Patt Ellen Panzer, MD, MPH, is a retired family medicine and public
health/community health physician. Since 2015 she has been engaged in
consulting on projects related to her special interests that include
community/public health and environmental/climate health, first as President of
Patt Panzer Associates, LLC, and since 2020 on a volunteer basis.
She received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania (1978); MD from the
Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University; 1982) and MPH from
MCP Hahnemann (now Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health;
2002). During her career Dr. Panzer served as a family physician in Wilmington,
Delaware (1985 to 1995) with special interest in obesity management and
community health; a teaching faculty member of the Crozer Keystone family
medicine residency training program in Springfield, Pennsylvania (1995-2001);
and as the medical director for medical policy for Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Delaware (2002-2012) and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware (2012-
2015) Over the years she has served on numerous community nonprofit boards
and committees. She has served 5 terms on the board of Claymont Community
Center, Claymont, Delaware over the past 20 plus years and is Past President,
July 2019-June 2021. She served as Chair of the Strategic Planning committee.
As of July, 2025 she rotated to Advisory Board member status. She is also Vice
Chair of the Medical Society of Delaware Public Health/Environmental Health
committee.
Having completed the Mount Cuba Ecological Gardening Certificate Program in
2021, she serves as a volunteer Ambassador for Mt Cuba Center, a Delaware
native plant botanical garden education and conservation center. She has been a
member of the Delaware Nature Society Advocacy Committee since 2020. She
assisted with forming the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Climate and Health (MAACH)
in 2022 and currently serves on the steering committee in process of creating
501c3 nonprofit status for the org as well as affiliating with the national Medical
Society Consortium on Climate & Health. In addition, with her husband, a fine art
photographer, she has been involved in the Delaware arts community for many
years and is a member of the Delaware Art Museum, Biggs Museum of Art as
well as the Delaware Contemporary. She completed the Coursera Michigan
State University Certificate Program “Cameras, Exposure, and Photography” in
2016, with her Capstone project of “Wildlife in My Backyard Garden”. She
photographs plants and wildlife (flora and fauna) in her home native plant wildlife
habitat garden as well as other locations. She and her husband, Carson
Zullinger, opened the Lumen Studio & Gallery in Independence Mall, DE in
December 2022 where they showcase their photography as well as other artists.
